Language and Literacy

All of our classrooms provide a text-rich environment to promote literacy and language development. Starting with our very youngest students, we encourage a love of reading and storytelling. We help develop early literacy skills through reading stories together, dramatic play, rhymes, and singing.

As our children grow, we introduce letter recognition and phonetics organically through one on one interactions and group work. Classroom teachers use small group lessons and creative hands-on projects to deepen the children’s understanding of language.

Our Kindergarten classroom continues this natural progression through more focused work on beginning reading and writing skills.
